What does it mean to truly know oneself? To love oneself? In this modern culture it can feel like there are unlimited options to define your identity and display your individual persona to the world around you. Sometimes this is really exciting, and then other times, it may feel overwhelming and stifling - maybe even at the same time! While we have these unlimited options, we also might often feel like we have to fit a specific mold, and when we aren’t able to (because it’s impossible), our sense of self-worth and our self-esteem may suffer. It might feel hard to know your true self through all the noise of what you feel you “should” be and do and say and look like.
…Perhaps all of these pressures might even make it feel really hard to even like yourself some days. We may live through each day feeling as if we aren’t good enough, as if we do not deserve love or acceptance, even from ourselves. Our self-worth and self-esteem can be deeply affected by the world around us. It may be from our upbringing, our lived experiences, or the pressures of what we see defined as “success” through social media.
Using an intersectional approach that looks at the whole self, I want to help you understand who you are, and to find love and acceptance within yourself. We can track negative thoughts that bring you down, and find new ways of appreciating your unique individual self. You are worthy of love from others, but most importantly from yourself.
